Please read these terms and conditions carefully before placing your order. By placing an order with Paper Darling, you confirm that you have read and accepted these terms and conditions.

These terms apply to purchases made through the Paper Darling website. If you have any questions about your order or these terms, please get in touch with our team before placing your order.

1. Orders & Booking Deposits

Our wedding stationery is made to order and involves a personalised design and production process.

Where a booking deposit is offered, a $200 booking deposit can be used to secure your place in our production schedule for your wedding month. This deposit is deducted from the final balance of your stationery order.

The booking deposit is non-refundable if you decide to cancel your booking. If your wedding is postponed, your deposit can be transferred to your new wedding date, subject to availability in our production schedule.

Your booking deposit does not commit you to purchasing a particular quantity or combination of stationery. Your final order can be confirmed as your stationery requirements come together.

All orders are subject to availability and our production capacity.

2. Pricing & Payment

All prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST unless otherwise stated.

Payment can be made by credit card through our online store or by direct credit to our nominated bank account.

For orders placed through our online store, payment requirements will be shown at checkout. Where a booking deposit has been paid, the remaining balance will be invoiced once your final stationery requirements have been confirmed.

If you add additional items, quantities or customisation to your order after the initial payment, any additional amount owing will be confirmed with you and must be paid before your order enters print production.

We reserve the right to correct genuine pricing or product errors on the website. If an error affects an order you have placed, we will contact you before proceeding.

3. Customisation & Bespoke Work

Our collections are designed to give you a beautiful, cohesive starting point while allowing you to make the stationery your own.

Depending on the collection and product, customisation may include colours, fonts, wording, names, shapes and other details outlined on the website.

Some requests may fall outside the standard customisation included with a collection. Additional design or production charges may apply for bespoke work, significant changes or custom items. We will discuss any additional costs with you before proceeding.

Minimum quantities apply to some products and are shown on the relevant product page. Smaller quantities may be possible by arrangement and may incur an additional fee.

4. Supplying Your Details

You are responsible for providing accurate and complete information required for your stationery.

This may include:

  • Names and spelling

  • Wedding date and venue details

  • Invitation wording

  • Guest names and addresses

  • Quantities

  • Seating arrangements

  • Other personalisation or information required for your chosen products

Where applicable, your information and selections should be provided through your Paper Darling Portal.

Please take care when entering your details. We recommend checking all names, dates, addresses, wording and other information carefully before submitting them to us.

5. Design & Proofing

Once we have received the information and selections needed for your order, our design team will prepare your stationery artwork.

Your proofs will be provided through your Paper Darling Portal for review and approval. Two rounds of refinements are included with our standard stationery design process.

Proofing is an important part of the process and gives you the opportunity to check that everything is correct before your stationery goes into production.

You are responsible for carefully checking your proofs, including names, spelling, dates, times, addresses, wording, quantities and any other details shown.

Once artwork has been approved for production, changes may not be possible. Where changes can be accommodated, additional design, production or reprint costs may apply.

If an error has been introduced by Paper Darling during the design or production process, please contact us as soon as possible so that we can assess and resolve the issue.

6. Production & Timeframes

Wedding stationery is produced to suit your wedding date and the requirements of your individual order.

For day-of stationery, design will generally begin around 6–8 weeks before your wedding, allowing time for design, proofing, production and delivery. Other stationery, such as invitations and save-the-dates, will have different recommended timeframes.

These timeframes are a guide rather than a guaranteed production schedule. Your final timeframe may vary depending on the products ordered, quantity, level of customisation and the time required to receive information and approvals from you.

We will provide relevant prompts and timeline information through your Paper Darling Portal where applicable.

If information, selections, approvals or other required content are delayed, this may affect the timeframe available for your order.

We recommend allowing enough time for your stationery to be produced and delivered before it is required.

7. Colours, Paper & Materials

Colours shown on screen may vary from the final printed result depending on your monitor, screen settings and other factors. For this reason, we cannot guarantee that colours viewed on screen will be an exact representation of the printed colour.

There can also be slight variations between print runs. Where stationery is ordered at different times, an exact colour match between separate print runs cannot always be guaranteed.

Paper and other materials can have natural variations in texture, tone and appearance. These characteristics are part of the nature of the materials we use and may result in minor differences between samples, proofs and finished products.

We take care to select quality materials and production processes to achieve the intended result of your stationery.

8. Delivery

We currently ship within New Zealand only.

Delivery costs are calculated at checkout or confirmed as part of your order, depending on the products being purchased. Larger or more delicate items may require additional packaging or delivery arrangements.

Delivery timeframes are estimates and can vary depending on the destination, courier network and other circumstances outside our control.

Please make sure the delivery address supplied to us is accurate and that someone will be available to receive your order where required.

If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible and provide photographs of the packaging and affected items so that we can assess the issue and determine the appropriate next steps.

9. Cancellations & Refunds

If you need to cancel or change your order, please contact us as soon as possible. We will let you know what options are available based on the stage your order has reached and any costs already incurred.

Booking deposits are non-refundable if a booking is cancelled. If your wedding is postponed, your booking deposit can be transferred to your new wedding date, subject to availability.

Nothing in these terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights or remedies you may have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or any other applicable New Zealand law.

10. Errors, Damaged or Incorrect Orders

We take care throughout the design and production process, but if there is an issue with your order, please contact us as soon as possible.

This includes situations where your order:

  • Arrives damaged

  • Is materially different from what you ordered

  • Contains an error that was introduced by Paper Darling

  • Is missing items from your confirmed order

Please provide photographs and details of the issue where relevant so that we can investigate and work with you on an appropriate resolution.

Your rights under applicable New Zealand consumer law are not affected by these terms.

11. Copyright & Original Designs

All original designs, artwork, layouts, illustrations, templates, concepts and other creative work produced by Paper Darling remain the intellectual property of Paper Darling unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Our designs and artwork may not be reproduced, copied, resold or used for another purpose without written permission from Paper Darling.

This does not affect ownership of content supplied by you or third parties.

12. Customer-Supplied Content

You are responsible for obtaining any permissions required to use content that you provide to us for your stationery.

This may include song lyrics, poems, quotes, venue logos, photographs, illustrations, artwork, fonts or other third-party material.

By providing this content to Paper Darling, you confirm that you have the right to use it for the purpose requested and authorise us to reproduce it as required to complete your order.

Paper Darling is not responsible for obtaining copyright or other permissions for customer-supplied content.

13. Photography & Marketing

We love seeing Paper Darling stationery out in the real world and may photograph completed work for use in our marketing.

Unless you have asked us not to before placing your order, Paper Darling may use photographs of your completed stationery for purposes including our website, portfolio, social media, advertising, wedding directories and other promotional material.

We will not publish private personal information beyond what is visible on the stationery itself unless otherwise agreed.

If you would prefer that your stationery is not used for marketing purposes, please let us know before placing your order.

14. Website Information

We take care to ensure that the information, images and pricing displayed on our website are accurate and up to date.

Product images are intended as a representation of the finished product. Minor differences may occur due to photography, screen settings, paper characteristics, printing processes and other production variables.

We may update product descriptions, pricing, materials, colours or availability from time to time. Changes will not affect an order that has already been confirmed with you unless otherwise agreed.
